Empowering women through menstrual access
At Menstrual Access Initiative, we believe every woman deserves dignity and access to essential menstrual products. Discover our story and how we're working to end period poverty in Harford County.

Why menstrual sanitation matters
Menstrual sanitation is crucial for women, allowing for education, occupation, and societal growth. Without proper menstrual access, women face barriers and restrictions that nobody deserves. Women in challenging circumstances shouldn't have to choose between menstrual products and food. At Menstrual Access Initiative, we strive to provide menstrual products wherever they're needed so women can be dignified and supported all over Harford County, MD.

Our Mission
The Menstrual Access Initiative is dedicated to providing access to essential hygiene for individuals experiencing insecurity through community partnerships, supporting menstrual product pantries, and developing sustainable distribution programs that foster health, dignity, and menstrual equality.

Our inspiring journey
Menstrual Access Initiative is a student-led organization that grew from a group of students researching gender inequality a few years ago. Learning about the detrimental impact worldwide, barricading bright women from bright futures, was eye-opening. We decided to start the Menstrual Access Initiative to positively impact struggling women in Harford County and provide the support all women deserve.

Making a tangible difference
We envision Menstrual Access Initiative making a real difference in the lives of women through donation drives, community projects, partnerships with other organizations, and building pantries in homeless shelters, domestic violence shelters, and women's centers. This ensures women all over Harford County have adequate access to sanitation, significantly improving their health risks and quality of life.
